Cottage Industries was started in 1949 to provide the Sri Aurobindo Ashram with incense sticks and mats, the surplus being distributed amongst devotees. In time, a great demand for incense arose from devotees abroad and our first export was made in 1973..

Our Showroom

Cottage Industries started a retail outlet in 1993. The showroom at Rangapillai Street is in the commercial heart of Pondicherry. Unlike other buisinesses, Cottage relies on a personal distribution channel which includes 'word of mouth'.

Our Approach

Our products are a result of a careful selection of natural ingredients and eco-friendly methods of manufacturing. We try and promote whenever possible rural employment. This helps make our products pure and at the same time economical.
